About Infoshred
Infoshred was established to provide secure destruction of valuable business information. With the addition of our Secure Archives Center, Infoshred is able to provide our customers with total document life cycle management. We stress security and service when handling our customer’s information.
Infoshred began in 1993 as a division of Recyclers LLC, a South Windsor, CT recycling business. Its creation was the result of strong client demand for separate and secure document destruction services and mobile paper shredding. It was no longer considered appropriate to throw documents in the trash or ship them to a recycling facility undestroyed.
In 1997 Infoshred was purchased by its first employee, Stacey J. Lombardo, and organized as Infoshred LLC, a State of Connecticut certified Minority/Woman-Owned Business. The company is a Charter Member of the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), was an early adopter of the NAID Certification Program, and maintains certification for secure on-site and off-site document destruction services.
In October 2003 Infoshred once again heeded the recommendation of our customers and launched a Secure Archives Center. As a natural progression of our business, we have carried over the high level of security we maintain in our destruction business to a 50,000 sq. ft. facility adjacent to our shredding plant, with the capacity to store 500,000 boxes.
In the summer of 2016 Infoshred received a CT DEEP permit and now operates the only shredding facility in CT to hold a State of CT General Permit to Construct and Operate a Commercial Facility for the Management of Recyclable Materials and Certain Solid Wastes. This permit applies to companies that engage in the disassembly of used electronics and also engage in other activities involving solid waste (such as shredding of documents for security purposes). This addition of services came at the request and from the demand of our longstanding clients who needed to properly recycle the devices and equipment we were already destroying hard drives for.
Infoshred has emerged from its humble 2-person, 1-truck, shared space beginnings to an exclusive, high-security facility housing a heavy investment in efficient, state-of-the-art software and equipment. Today Infoshred employs 45 people and operates 24 trucks, providing the highest level of services including mobile paper shredding to clients across Southern New England. Our services include off-site document destruction services, on-site shredding, product destruction, media disintegration, and records storage.
As we celebrate two decades in the information destruction and records management industry we would like to offer our sincerest thanks to our steadily growing client base. Our success can be directly attributed to our constant commitment to building the most unique and innovative document management company by providing the ultimate level of security and service to our customers.
